Match Report
Matheus Cunha did the early damage, breaking the deadlock in the 23rd off a fast break and doubling it in the 36th with a Vinícius Júnior assist, both finishes from inside the box. Vinícius added his own goal right before the break, finishing a Lucas Paquetá through ball in stoppage time to make it 3-0 at halftime — game basically over by then. Haiti never folded, though: Johny Placide made smart saves off Vinícius and Raphinha early on, and the underdogs actually out-shot expectations, 7 attempts to Brazil's 8, even if only 3 found the target. Raphinha didn't finish the half, going off injured for Rayan in the 40th. Brazil eased off after the break, rotating in Martinelli, Endrick, Danilo Santos and Éderson Silva to coast home. Discipline got loose late — Carlens Arcus, Frantzdy Pierrot and Danley Jean Jacques all booked for Haiti, plus Douglas Santos for Brazil — but a routine 3-0 night for the favorites that never really looked in doubt after the 36th minute.
