Croatia broke the deadlock midway through the first half — Petar Sucic connecting right-footed from a Mateo Kovacic delivery, the ball arrowing into the bottom corner. Ghana came alive after the break and drew level on 73 minutes, Ernest Nuamah picking out Derrick Luckassen who swept a left-footed finish past the keeper. It looked like a draw was coming. Then Luka Modric — still doing this at 40 — picked out Nikola Vlasic at the back post in the 83rd, and Vlasic headed Croatia back in front. Croatia finish second in Group L and face Portugal in Toronto. Ghana's four points are in the best-thirds pool; they'll find out their fate once all groups wrap.
