Match Report
Panama had the better of the chances but Ghana stole it in stoppage time. Lawrence Ati Zigi made an early save off Cecilio Waterman, then went down hurt right before half-time — Benjamin Asare came on cold for the second half and turned into the matchday hero. Caleb Yirenkyi picked up an early yellow and spent the rest of the night trying to make up for it, firing one effort wide before finally getting it right. Panama pushed hard after the break: Asare denied César Blackman point-blank in the 64th, then kept the door shut as Antoine Semenyo and Jonas Adjetey both went close for Ghana. His best stop came with five minutes left, palming away a low Ismael Díaz strike. Then, in the 90th+5, Yirenkyi finished a fast break from point-blank range to send Ghana top of Group L. Asare wasn't done — he denied Díaz again moments later to seal it. Panama out-shot Ghana 11-8 and had 62% of the ball, but a backup keeper and a stoppage-time winner were the difference.
