Match Report
Scotland came out sharp — Gannon-Doak, Shankland, and McTominay all tested Haiti in the opening fifteen minutes, with McTominay rattling the right post in the 17th. The goal came just after the half-hour: Placide parried Adams' close-range effort and McGinn swept in the rebound from the centre of the box. Haiti had moments — Providence and Pierrot both forced Gunn into saves around the 34th — but Bellegarde was booked in the 39th for a rough challenge and Haiti's threat faded. Hickey picked up a yellow at the start of the second half, and Haiti pushed back: 53% possession, four corners, and real pressure from Bellegarde and Pierrot down the stretch. Scotland made a triple substitution in the 75th to help hold the lead, then sent Curtis and McLean on in the 83rd — both were booked within minutes of arriving. Pierrot's right-footed drive in the 90th plus four was Haiti's best late chance, but Gunn pushed it away. Haiti had 15 shots to Scotland's 9 and more of the ball, but couldn't convert. Scotland's first World Cup win since 1996.
