Jordan led for nearly the whole match. Nizar Al-Rashdan put them ahead in the 36th, finishing off a Mousa Al-Tamari assist, and that score held all the way until the hour mark and beyond. Algeria needed a substitute to turn it around — Nadhir Benbouali, on at the break for Boudaoui, headed home a Riyad Mahrez corner-kick cross in the 69th to level it. Thirteen minutes later Amine Gouiri buried a close-range volley off another corner to flip the game on its head. Jordan never found an answer, and Algeria stole it 2-1 in the closing stretch with two goals built off set pieces.
