South Africa actually had chances — Mbokazi hit the bar late in the first half, and Modiba nearly levelled it from distance even after Sithole got sent off in the 49th. Jiménez killed the game in the 67th, heading home from Alvarado's cross. Then things got wild: Zwane came off the bench, lasted 23 minutes, and got a straight red for violent conduct. Montes walked too in stoppage time. Three red cards, a crossbar, and a nervy second half — not the clean opener Mexico were hoping for, but three points on home soil.
