Match Report
Brian Brobbey set the tone early, finishing a Cody Gakpo cross in the 5th and adding a second off a Denzel Dumfries ball in the 17th to make it 2-0 before Sweden had settled. Gakpo got in on the act himself right after the restart, converting a Dumfries cross in the 47th, then following it with a left-footed finish off a Crysencio Summerville assist just seven minutes later to put the game out of reach at 4-0. Sweden's reply — an Anthony Elanga finish off an Alexander Isak through ball in the 59th — was little more than a consolation, even though Sweden actually out-shot the Dutch 16 to 10 across the match. Substitute Summerville capped the rout in the 89th, turning a Memphis Depay assist into a fifth, after both sides had emptied the bench through a string of second-half changes. Three different yellow cards for Sweden — Gabriel Gudmundsson, Yasin Ayari, Lucas Bergvall — told the story of a side chasing the game from the first whistle. A statement win for the Dutch heading into the rest of Group F.
