Match Report
Portugal had most of the ball but couldn't break down a well-organized Congo DR side. João Neves opened the scoring in the 6th, meeting a Pedro Neto cross with a clean header into the bottom right corner. Diogo Costa was rarely tested in the first half — his only save came in the 33rd, turning away Edo Kayembe's low strike from outside the box. Congo DR struck right before the whistle though: Yoane Wissa rose above the Portuguese defense off an Arthur Masuaku corner to head home in the 45th+5, leveling it at the break. The second half belonged to Cristiano Ronaldo's frustration — he missed twice from inside the box in the 68th and 74th, both teed up by substitute Francisco Conceição, but couldn't find the target either time. Cédric Bakambu had Congo DR's best look on the counter in the 77th and sailed it well over. Four yellow cards, three of them Portuguese, told the story of a side growing impatient as the clock ran down. A fair result in the end — Congo DR matched the favorites step for step, and Portugal will need sharper finishing if they want to top Group K.
