Brazil were ahead inside seven minutes — Vinícius Júnior finishing a fast break to open the scoring. Lewis Ferguson went off injured in the 2nd minute, and though Scotland had their moments — McTominay's header was saved by Alisson at 49', and Gunn dealt with a Vinícius effort right after — they never threatened in numbers. Vinícius headed in a second on the stroke of halftime to make it 2-0. Matheus Cunha wrapped it up in the 60th off a Paquetá pass. Neymar went close in the 90th, Gunn denying him at the top corner. Brazil looked in control throughout, three yellows in the final half-hour their only blot. Top of Group C, clean sheet, knockouts secured. Scotland go third — the best-third wildcard is their only path now.
