Match Report

Morocco needed barely two minutes to get going — Brahim Díaz slid a through ball in and Ismael Saibari finished from the right side of the box into the top corner, silencing the home end almost before kickoff had settled. That early strike set the tone: Morocco controlled 59% of the ball and doubled Scotland's shot count, 12 to 6, without ever really letting go of the game. Bilal El Khannouss came closest to a second, glancing a header that Angus Gunn had to claw out of the top corner in the 52nd, and Achraf Hakimi and Neil El Aynaoui both missed the target from good positions either side of that. Scotland, for all their late pressure, never seriously threatened — six shots, zero on target the entire match. Kieran Tierney went off injured just past the hour, and John McGinn's best look, a near-post header in first-half stoppage time, drifted wide. Issa Diop picked up Morocco's only first-half yellow in the 23rd; Andy Robertson matched him for Scotland in the 65th. Morocco's substitutes almost made it two late on — Chemsdine Talbi and Ayoube Amaimouni-Echghouyab both went close in stoppage time — but one goal from Saibari was enough to take all three points.
