Canada had the better of it in the first half — Embolo missed two good chances and Kobel kept out Larin and Ali Ahmed as the game stayed level at 0-0. Switzerland cracked it open right out of the tunnel: Vargas rolled in a Manzambi assist at 46', and Manzambi got his own goal in the 57th off Embolo's return pass. Canada threw on Eustaquio, Oluwaseyi, and Millar at 58' trying to get back into it, and Promise David came off the bench in the 75th and scored immediately — a volley from the centre to make it 2-1. The finish was frantic: David went close again in 90'+3' and 90'+6', Johnston had a header saved in between, but Kobel held firm each time. Switzerland win in Vancouver and finish top of Group B. Canada go through as runners-up.
