Match Report
Colombia dominated the ball early and nearly broke through in the 32nd when Luis Díaz rattled the right post off a Jhon Arias through ball. The opener came in the 40th — Daniel Muñoz finishing another Díaz through ball to make it 1-0 at the break, after James Rodríguez and Gustavo Puerta were both denied by blocks. Uzbekistan came out swinging after the restart: Eldor Shomurodov forced a save from Camilo Vargas in the 60th, and Abbosbek Fayzullaev pounced on the rebound to head it home and level things at 1-1. Colombia answered almost instantly — Luis Díaz restored the lead in the 65th off a Gustavo Puerta assist, and from there Colombia controlled the rest of the game. Uzbekistan's best late chance came from a Dostonbek Khamdamov header that drifted wide in stoppage time, but substitute Jáminton Campaz put it beyond doubt in the 90th+9, heading home a Cucho Hernández cross for the 3-1 final. Two early yellow cards — Mojica for Colombia, Khusanov for Uzbekistan — were the only real friction in an otherwise open, attacking match.
