Appollis tested Kim Seung-Gyu early, Maseko was dangerous all night down the right, and Mofokeng carried the ball with confidence in midfield. The goal came from the flank — Maseko arrived into the box in the 63rd and finished cleanly. Korea pushed back through Cho Gue-Sung, brought on at 74', and the game tightened in the final stretch. Ronwen Williams made the save of the match in stoppage time: a header from Park Jin-Seob from six yards out, palmed away clean. South Africa second in Group A. Korea finish third with three points and go into the best-thirds pool — their fate depends on how the rest of the groups play out.
