Morocco were clinical in a way that made Canada's afternoon feel longer than it was. Ismael Saibari — who scored twice against Scotland in the group stage — went down injured at 21', and his replacement Soufiane Rahimi came on to score the third. The first half ended with five yellows in the final 15 minutes as both sides got edgy at the break. Azzedine Ounahi opened it at 50', curling a right-footed shot from outside the box to the bottom right corner after a Hakimi set piece. He added a second at 82', this time from the centre of the box to the top right corner after a Brahim Díaz fast break. Rahimi wrapped it up in the ninth minute of stoppage time, also assisted by Díaz on the counter. Three goals from four shots on target. Canada had 10 shots, 11 corners, and finished with nothing — Bounou, who Ounahi scored two past before being booked, needed just one save. Morocco into the quarterfinals.
