Spain controlled this from the first whistle — more possession, more territory, more chances. Argentina barely threatened. A long, grinding 90 minutes in New Jersey that somehow finished 0-0 despite La Roja's dominance.

Argentina's night fell apart in stoppage time. Enzo Fernández, already on a yellow, picked up a second in the 90'+3' and walked. Ten men going into extra time, the defending champions hanging on.

Ferran Torres had come on as a sub at 62'. He finished it at 106'. Nico Williams flicked a header across the box, Torres met it with a left-footed volley from the centre — straight into the roof of the net. That was enough.

Spain are world champions. 1-0 AET at MetLife Stadium.
