Spain didn't mess around. Mikel Oyarzabal put them ahead at 36' with a composed left-footed finish from the centre of the box — Marc Cucurella picking him out with a precise cutback. Austria tried to regroup at half-time, throwing on Grillitsch and Chukwuemeka, but it didn't change anything. Pedro Porro made it two at 66' with a thumping header from an Álex Baena cross, and Austria's double sub at the hour mark — Arnautovic and Kalajdzic coming on — barely registered a threat. Oyarzabal wrapped it up at 89', slotting a right-footed shot to the bottom-right corner, again assisted by Cucurella. Two goals, two assists for the Cucurella-Oyarzabal combination. Spain 3-0, into the Round of 16.
